There was no evidence that Kharg Island had actually been attacked in the manner shown in the video. Iranian officials dismissed the post, while US Vice President JD Vance said Trump was using the post to send a message to Tehran.

Kharg Island is a major Iranian oil-export hub, making it strategically important to the country's economy.

Iran Signals It Does Not Want a Wider War

Despite the latest exchange, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has indicated that continued hostilities with the United States are not in Iran's interests and has expressed a preference for negotiations.
