Light Sanding Brings Life Back to Cedar 
Over time, cedar wood pores get clogged with dust and everyday grime. This buildup prevents the release of natural oils that give cedar its characteristic scent and help to keep moths away.

Experts recommend lightly sanding the inside with medium- or fine-grit sandpaper. It removes the oxidised top layer of the wood, revealing the fresh grain. 

After sanding, hoover up the dust and wipe the surfaces down with a dry cloth. Very quickly you should notice the smell come back.

Avoid sealers and paints
One mistake is glueing the wood. Do not put any varnish, polyurethane, paint or other sealant inside a cedar closet.
