1,000+ Runs, Proven Leadership: Madhav Kaushik to Lead Noida Kings

Noida Kings have appointed experienced Uttar Pradesh batter Madhav Kaushik as their captain for the fourth edition of the UP T20 League 2026. The franchise will be hoping that Kaushik’s batting experience and leadership skills can help the team make a strong push for the title.

The fourth season of the UP T20 League began on August 14 and will run until September 6. Six teams are competing in the tournament, with matches being played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow and Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Kaushik’s Solid UP T20 Record

Kaushik has been one of the most consistent performers in the league since its inception in 2023. He had scored 350 runs in the first season and 366 runs in 2024. His 2024 campaign was especially impressive. Kaushik scored 366 runs in 12 innings, with an average of 61, a strike rate of 146.99, and three half-centuries.

He scored 286 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate of 139.51 during the 2025 season. His best performance came against a league opponent, where he scored 95 runs off just 31 balls with 10 fours and seven sixes.

Kaushik has scored 1,002 runs in three editions so far, making him one of the most experienced batters in the league.

Proven Leadership Experience

Kaushik also brings valuable leadership experience to the Noida Kings. In 2024, he was a member of the Meerut Mavericks team that won the UP T20 League title. He also managed the team in the 2025 campaign, leading them to the final for the third season in a row.

Meerut lost to Kashi Rudras in the final, but Kaushik’s captaincy further raised his credentials as a captain.

Strong Domestic Cricket Heritage

In domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh, apart from T20, Kaushik has also shown that he can be relied upon as a top-order batsman.

He has played 28 first-class matches and scored 1,441 runs from 41 innings at an average of 37.92 with four hundreds and five fifties. His highest first-class score is 185 not out.

Kaushik was the top run-scorer for Uttar Pradesh in the 2025-26 season of the Ranji Trophy, accumulating 351 runs in eight innings at an average of 50.14. He has also made a mark in List A cricket, most notably with an unbeaten 158 in the 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy final against Mumbai.

Noida Kings Eye Big Campaign

Now with Kaushik steering the ship, the Noida Kings will look to combine his experience with the young talent in their squad. His ability to contribute with the bat and captain the team under pressure will come in handy during the tournament.

The franchise will be aiming for a deeper run in the 2026 edition and will hope Kaushik’s leadership can help them challenge strongly for the UP T20 League title.
