But one Gurgaon founder is flipping that mindset on its head, claiming that the “free option was never free.” He prefers to pay ₹30 lakh a year in Gurgaon, even though he has a rent-free option in Delhi. Interestingly, he claims that because his parents maintain a healthy distance and schedule meetings or lunches on the weekends, his relationship with them is actually warmer and more fully realized.
