In the video, Sapra is seen tasting and reviewing food being served near the protest venue, which has gone viral. The content was typical of his food reviews, but many viewers felt the setting trumped the purpose of the protest. The video was slammed by several social media users who said it appeared insensitive given Wangchuk's indefinite hunger strike.
But others defended Mr Sapra, saying he was just reviewing the food on offer at the venue and local vendors shouldn’t lose business because of the protest. Supporters also noted that the video wasn’t mocking the activist or his cause.
