Rescue Operation Continues After 4-Year-Old Falls Into 220-Foot Borewell in Haryana

Child Falls Into Deep Borewell
Four-year-old Nirbhay, in Haryana's Ambala district, fell into a 220-foot-deep borewell by mistake early Monday morning while with his father. The tragedy sparked a major rescue operation by many authorities.

Rescue Teams Working Around the Clock
Within a short time of the event, teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Indian Army, and local authorities visited the spot. Heavy machinery and specialised rescue equipment have been used in an attempt to retrieve the toddler safely.

Officials stated the rescuers are working round the clock, taking all feasible precautions, as the borewell is deep and of reduced size.

Operation Faces Challenges
According to officials, the rescue operation has been difficult because of the borewell's depth. During the operation, there were concerns that the child may have slipped further inside, making the rescue even more challenging. Authorities also said no visible body movement had been observed during the ongoing operation.

Medical teams and emergency personnel remain on standby at the site as rescue efforts continue.

Authorities Hope for Safe Rescue
District officials are closely monitoring the situation, while rescue workers continue to search for the safest way to bring the child out. The incident has once again highlighted the dangers of uncovered and abandoned borewells and the need for strict safety measures to prevent such accidents.
