Police Seek More Time to Question Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary Over Alleged "Murder Rehearsals"

Investigators Move to Pre-Planning, Dry Runs

The probe into the death of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort in Pune has taken a chilling turn with the police now seeking more time from a local court to keep suspects Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary in their custody. Detectives said they need to investigate more about what they believe were intentional “rehearsals” and reconnaissance trips by the pair before the event. According to police, the couple allegedly visited several locations in order to plan out the crime, and getting the suspects to point out the exact spot is crucial to build a solid timeline of how the attack was engineered.

Searching for a lost passport and destroyed evidence

Besides planning the stages, investigators are also focusing heavily on a missing passport linked to the case. The court was told police have good reason to believe evidence was deliberately destroyed or hidden to mislead the initial inquiry. They are trying to find out where and how the passport was got rid of so they can recover whatever remains of it or related material evidence, which could be crucial in establishing a clear attempt to cover up the crime.

Deleted Chats and Forensic Clues Maintain the Heat

The case, which has gripped the public, is increasingly relying on digital footprints to crack the suspects’ stories. The forensics teams have been working around the clock to retrieve deleted WhatsApp chats, mobile phone data, and call history. Recent findings from these phone logs have opened up entirely new leads, and it is absolutely necessary to keep the accused in custody for a longer period so they can be confronted with the digital evidence and reveal the full scope of the conspiracy, police noted.
