The message has been widely circulated on WhatsApp and other platforms in the wake of reports of people allegedly posing as delivery agents, maintenance workers and other service staff to gain entry into homes.

The viral message recommends that people: 
- Confirm visitor details with society security or via the residential gate app
- Request a valid ID before allowing anyone in
Be very wary of anyone claiming to be delivery personnel or maintenance staff who hasn't been booked in advance

These basic checks, experts say, take seconds but can prevent fraud, theft, or other security threats.

Report Suspicious Behaviour
The advisory also recommends that any suspicious behaviour should be reported immediately to society management or local police. 

Apartment complex and gated community residents are reminded to stay alert and not to assume every knock is authentic.
