Lohagad Fort Murder Case: Ketan Agarwal Suspected Siya Goyal Was Having an Affair, Police Say

The Lohagad Fort murder case investigation has taken a chilling turn with the shocking investigation. Weeks before his tragic death, Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal had strong suspicions about his fiancée Siya Goyal and even asked his family if they checked the background before fixing the marriage, investigators revealed.

What initially looked like a tragic accident has now turned into a calculated plot allegedly fuelled by a secret love affair.

The Red Flags Leading Up to the Tragedy

Ketan had expressed his fears several times before the incident, according to the statements given to the police by his father Vishal Agarwal. The couple, who were to be married in November, got engaged in February at a hotel in Pune where they were introduced by a mutual relative. But that relationship was soon strained:

The Constant Talk of Another Man: Ketan said Siya often talked about a guy named Chetan Chaudhary in their talks.

Busy on the phone, Ketan was getting frustrated. He tried to call Siya many times, but her line was always busy.

The Cancelled Bali Trip: A pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia, was cancelled on June 6. Ketan told his father that Siya had begun to pick fights on very small issues.

His family told him they want the marriage to work. They figured the friction was just because she was young and told Ketan not to worry, particularly as both families knew each other through relatives.

A First Try That Chills

Police probe reveals it wasn’t the first time Siya tried to harm Ketan, who was killed in the incident. Four days before he died, there was a near miss in the same exact spot:

14 June (First Attempt) Siya took Ketan to Lohagad Fort and allegedly pushed him off the cliff. Ketan held on to a bush nearby and saved his life. “What just happened?" asked Ketan, confused and shaken. Siya quickly covered her tracks by screaming about a snake and saying she had actually pushed him out of harm’s way to save him.

June 18 (The Fatal Push) Four days later Ketan was back in the fort. The police claim that this time Siya and her lover Chetan Chaudhary succeeded in their conspiracy and pushed Ketan to death from the cliff.

Where the Investigation Is

The police put two and two together and realised that Siya and Chetan had a premeditated murder conspiracy going on. Both were taken into police custody and are being held until July 3. Investigators are sifting through digital evidence, phone records and witness statements to piece together the precise timeline of events leading up to the tragedy.
