Jaipur Woman Arrested for Allegedly Plotting Mother's Murder Over Property and Government Job
Investigators and residents are stunned by a shocking case in Rajasthan's capital. A 23-year-old woman has been arrested over a plot against her own mother involving family property and a government job.
Police say the crime involved several family members and contract killers and was staged to look like a road accident.
Among the daughter's main accused uncle
Jaipur Police said the main accused is Ayushi Sharma. Investigators said she allegedly hatched the murder plot with the help of her uncle *Mohan Swaroop* and cousin *Balram alias Ravi*.
The gang had hired contract killers for ₹7 lakh to commit the murder, police say. They had supposedly planned to run over the victim with a Scorpio SUV and make it seem like an accident to cover their tracks.
A senior police officer said a preliminary investigation suggests the conspiracy was hatched over property and to claim a compassionate appointment after the victim’s death.
The victim, a court employee
The murdered person has been identified as 45-year-old Neeraj Sharma, who was working as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) in a court in Jaipur.
On July 3, she was killed in the area of Pratap Nagar. Police suspect the accused had specifically targeted her to grab family assets and to get a government job on compassionate grounds after her death.
Seven arrested, one suspect absconding
So far, police have arrested seven people in connection with the case:
- Ayushi Sharma
- Mohan Swaroop
- Mohit Sharma
- Akash Sharma
- Arvind Sharma
- Hemant Sharma
- Rohit Jatav
Ayushi’s cousin Balram, known as Ravi, who police say is a prime conspirator, is on the run. Teams have been formed to find him and take him into custody.
Officials said they are also investigating the role of each arrested person and tracking the financial transactions related to the alleged contract.
Investigation in progress
The case has sent shock waves across Rajasthan with the alleged involvement of close relatives in the murder plot.
Police are now piecing together the full sequence of events, gathering forensic evidence and establishing the chain of conspiracy. The ongoing probe is expected to lead to further arrests and legal proceedings, according to officials.
Senior officers have said that no conclusions should be reached until the investigation is complete. The vehicle and other recovered evidence are being investigated as part of the case file.
