India will observe a day of official mourning on Saturday in honour of Father Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 74. The tight diplomatic ties between the two countries were taken into consideration when making the decision, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). There won't be any official entertainment events on the day of mourning, and the national flag will be flown at half mast across the country as a symbol of respect.
