Former Delhi CM Atishi Visits Jantar Mantar, Extends Support To CJP Protest
Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Sunday visited the protest site of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar and expressed her solidarity with the protesters, terming the agitation “a battle for the future of students”.
During her visit, she met protesters and organisers and called for the government to listen to their concerns through dialogue.
Atishi Meets Protesters At Jantar Mantar
Atishi came to Jantar Mantar, where the members of CJP have been protesting for the last few days.
She rubbed elbows with the protesters, telling them she supports their call for justice.
“This Is For The Students’ Future”
Addressing the protesters at the site, Atishi said that the protest should not be perceived as just another protest. “This is a movement about the future of students,” she said, adding that the issues raised by the protesters need to be heard and addressed.
She said the government has to negotiate with the protesters and talk to work out a way forward.
Protests against exam irregularities
The CJP protest at Jantar Mantar has been going on for days now. Protesters have demanded accountability over alleged irregularities in the examination and have been demanding that the authorities respond to their demands.
Organisers said the demonstration will continue until their demands are met.
Increasing political support
Over the past few days, several political leaders, activists, and public figures have expressed their support for the protest.
Atishi’s visit is the latest in a series of support for the movement in the national capital.
