Delhi Startup Launches ‘CarryMen’ to Help Shoppers With Bags, Queues, and More at Lajpat Nagar
Shopping made easy in Lajpat Nagar. A Delhi-based startup has come up with a new service where trained assistants help customers carry bags, stand in queues, and even arrange seating, making busy market trips a lot less tiring.
The service, called CarryMen, is targeted at families, the elderly, pregnant women, and anyone struggling to shop in crowded markets.
Hands-Free Shopping @ Just Rs.149 per hour
CarryMen provides trained shopping assistants for Rs 149 an hour.
They help carry shopping bags up to 12 kg, queue for food, direct customers to metro stations or parking, and can even carry portable foldable chairs if needed.
The idea is simple: let shoppers browse without the pain of heavy bags or long lines.
Born on a day in Lajpat Nagar
Delhi-based friends and mothers Ritu Kandari Srivastava and Kanishka Malhotra co-founded the startup.
They thought of the idea when they found it difficult to handle the kids, prams, and the many bags of shopping during a visit to Lajpat Nagar Market.
"We knew how tiring it gets, especially for parents and for those shopping for their elderly," said the founders. “We wanted to put comfort back into shopping.
Prioritise safety and support
CarryMen launched in April 2026 and had more than 50 bookings in the first month, mostly by word of mouth.
All assistants are in uniform, wear visible ID cards, and are supervised by a booth captain. “The service is built around safety and customer support,” the founders say.
Outside Lajpat Nagar
The service has been particularly useful to elderly shoppers, pregnant women, and parents of young children, the team says.
After its Lajpat Nagar response, CarryMen now plans to expand to Chandni Chowk, bringing the same hands-free shopping experience to more parts of Delhi.
CarryMen is known for its humming markets and is offering a little help to make shopping fun again.
