Tollywood just pulled off a huge feat, winning a whopping nine awards at the 72nd National Film Awards. It is a historic moment for the industry, proving that the massive pan-India wave isn't just about breaking box office records - it is finally getting the highest level of critical love, too.

What Movies Dominated the Box Office?

Instead of the awards being spread out, a few stand-out films took home multiple honors, proving that Telugu cinema is crushing it across both blockbuster spectacles and heartfelt storytelling:

Kalki 2898 AD: The futuristic sci-fi epic proved that Indian filmmakers can build massive, high-concept worlds, taking home two awards (Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Production Design) for its jaw-dropping technical work.

Pushpa 2: The Rule: The massive action phenomenon also bagged two awards (Best Original Screenplay for Sukumar and Best Costume Design), cementing just how huge its cultural footprint has become.

Committee Kurrollu: This beloved village drama won the hearts of critics and audiences alike, winning two awards (Best Telugu Film and Best Makeup) for its raw, real storytelling and brilliant ensemble cast.

35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu: This gem is a testament to the fact that small, intimate stories can still be hugely powerful. It also took home a couple of awards including Best Children's Film and Best Child Artist for young Arundev Pothula.
