Pankaj Tripathi Waives Fee for Amit Rai’s Film Ohh My Dog

Pankaj Tripathi has once again proved why he is one of the most grounded actors in the industry. He said that he sacrificed his entire acting fee for the upcoming movie Oh My Dog just to support his long-time friend and director, Amit Rai.

Why He Did It for Free

Tripathi said that while big-budget films are massive blockbusters, smaller, story-driven films need a little extra love, adding that they are supporting independent cinema. On his state of mind, he said the following:

“Commercial films are made with the support of money. But independent and small films where the story is important, who will support them if not actors like us?”

A Personal Touch: The movie is based in a rural backdrop and shot right in his home state of Bihar, which made the project hit extra close to home for him.

The Overachiever: Tripathi was only supposed to be in to shoot a quick four-day cameo as a teacher, but he willingly stuck around for a full week to make sure the crew had everything they needed.

What is Oh My Dog?

The Story: Directed and written by Amit Rai, the family-friendly film explores the deep, emotional bond between a kid and their dog but also adds a thrilling plotline about a local pet-trafficking ring.

The Cast: Besides Tripathi, the cast includes child actor Maahi Rai, Pawan Malhotra, Rajesh Kumar and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma – along with a whole pack of furry stars, with over 250 dogs!
