Mahindra is preparing to introduce the premium electric SUV segment with its upcoming BE.07, a purpose-built vehicle to challenge the Tata Harrier EV. Tata has already made waves with the Harrier EV, but Mahindra is betting on a “born-electric” approach to win over buyers craving a fresh, high-tech alternative.

The B.E.07, what we know about the

The BE.07 will be Mahindra’s fourth major “born electric” SUV to be built on its dedicated INGLO platform. India is to be a production hub for the 2027 production version, a strategic timeline shift.

Design & Presence: Spy shots and early info indicate a car that will stay true to its concept origins with a tall, muscular stance, distinct C-shaped LED lighting, flush door handles and a modern, angular profile that gives it a commanding road presence.

Performance: Expected to provide a broad range of battery packs, probably in the 60kWh-80kWh range, with a real-world range well in excess of 500km. Buyers will find both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants.

Tech-Savvy Cabin The highlight is likely to be the interior, which is expected to offer a high-tech triple-screen dashboard, Level 2+ ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and 5G-enabled connectivity, making it a premium, family-orientated SUV.

The Scenario of Competition

The launch is part of a wider Mahindra plan to catch up and eventually lead in the EV space. Mahindra is aiming at the “heart of the market” with the positioning of the BE.07 against the Tata Harrier EV – families that want the practicality of a traditional SUV shape but are willing to embrace the advantages of electric performance.

The Harrier EV may have the “first-mover” advantage, thanks to its established SUV reputation, but the BE.07 is shaping up to be a serious contender, thanks to its focus on deep integration between its electric hardware and futuristic cabin tech.
