Lawyer Aashuutosh Srivastava has been in the public eye as Siya’s defence counsel, telling the media about her innocence. But there’s a catch: even Siya’s family says they don’t know he is. Her brother Sahil Goyal came out in public and said that he or the family has never hired Srivastava, and they certainly haven’t authorised him to speak on Siya’s behalf.

A Retaliation of Rs 10 Crores

Lawyer Srivastava did not take that public call-out sitting down. He quickly served Siya's brother with a whopping defamation notice of Rs 10 crore.

But Srivastava insists he is legally representing Siya and the brother’s public statements are outright lies that are tarnishing his professional reputation. “He keeps defending Siya in the press, saying the police don’t have any direct eyewitnesses who witnessed her committing the crime.

The Legal Drama Behind the Grim Case

Beneath all the dramatic legal posturing is the actual, tragic case that started it.

Ketan Agarwal, a businessman from Pune, died after falling into a deep gorge at the historic Lohagad Fort on June 18. At first it looked like a horrible trekking accident. But as local police started digging, the narrative turned completely. The investigators now say the fall was no accident and that Siya Goyal and her secret lover, Chetan Chaudhary, had planned and executed a plot to kill Ketan. Both remain in custody as the investigation continues.
