Iran Says It Has Not Sought Talks Despite US Decision to Pause Strikes

Iran Clarifies Its Position
An Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday that reports suggesting Iran had reached out for talks were “not accurate".

“We have not approached the United States for negotiations,” the spokesperson said. “Our position on diplomacy is clear, but no formal request has been made at this time.”

The statement came days after the US announced it was temporarily holding back on military action in the region.

Diplomatic Channels Remain Open  
Despite ruling out active talks, Iranian officials said the door to diplomacy has not been closed. 

They stressed that dialogue could resume if there is mutual respect and a change in circumstances. Tehran reiterated that it prefers peaceful solutions but will continue to defend its interests.
