A massive fire in a high-rise residential building in Noida is suspected to have been caused by an AC blast. Several fire tenders rushed to the spot and fire-fighting operations were launched.
Panic in the Tower
A massive fire erupted in a high-rise residential building in Noida on Monday morning, compelling terrified residents to flee into the streets and triggering a significant emergency response.
Horrific images have accompanied the scene, showing thick black smoke pouring out of windows and rising high into the sky from one of the upper floors of the residential tower. A few minutes later the building’s alarms went off and hundreds of neighbours ran down the staircases in panic, trying to escape the choking smoke.
Firefighters Race Against Time
The local fire department responded quickly to the emergency calls, dispatching about half a dozen fire tenders to the complex. Firefighters had a tough time tackling a fire high above the ground, launching an aggressive response to contain the flames.
Their primary concern was to put out the fire before it could spread from balcony to balcony and ravage the apartments next door. Crews fought the fire from the inside and out, and rescue crews went through the affected floors, making sure no one was left behind or trapped in the smoky hallways. Fortunately, the swift evacuation meant there were no immediate injuries or deaths.
The Silent Killers of Summer Stress
A full investigation has been launched by fire marshals to find out exactly what went wrong but disaster is suspected to have been caused by explosion of an air conditioner
This terrible event is a warning of an increasing danger in modern high-rise buildings, particularly in the height of summer. The heat is becoming unbearable, and air conditioners are pushed to their limits, working relentlessly for days. Without proper maintenance, the extreme load can easily cause a compressor to overheat, short circuit or explode – turning a simple home convenience into a serious safety concern.
Fire officials are asking residents of high-rise buildings to have their heavy appliances checked by professionals and remain vigilant about basic fire safety rules, while families are holding their breath for the all-clear to return to their homes.
