The streets of the capital turned into a battleground as hundreds of demonstrators pushing forward from the Mandi House Metro Station towards Jantar Mantar ran straight into a wall of heavy police deployment. Ignoring hard prohibitory orders and shut transit stations across central Delhi, the crowds, including a surprisingly large number of women, refused to retreat. As protesters chanted defiant slogans directly at the Centre, security forces used sticks, batons and tear gas to prevent the unauthorized march from advancing toward the legislature.

Thick acrid smoke and shouting filled the air as officers desperately tried to corral the fast-moving processions. Every street corner by the central district became a battleground of resistance, with ordinary citizens and student activists arm-in-arm, determined to push beyond barricades that felt emblematic of an unresponsive system.

Standing Ground Amid Clampdown

Security personnel were seen using physical force to break up the dense crowds in visuals from the frontline showing the raw intensity of the standoff.
