Centre Reshuffles Top Education Bureaucrat Amid Paper Leak Row

The move comes after the government announced a fresh set of reforms to restore faith in the country’s exam system.

Gangwar has been appointed as the new Education Secretary in an official order. The appointment comes at a time when students and parents have been demanding greater accountability after several instances of question papers being leaked ahead of major entrance tests.

Officials said it was part of routine administrative changes, but the timing has come under focus over the ongoing controversy.

Government pushes for exam reform  
With the bureaucratic change, the Centre has announced more stringent measures to stop further leaks. Suggestions include setting up fast-track courts for paper leak cases, stricter security during exams, digital monitoring of printing and transportation, and harsher punishments for those involved in malpractice.

The aim is to make competitive examinations more transparent and to ensure that candidates do not suffer due to any fraud, the Education Ministry said.
