Marvel Studios has officially dropped the first high-voltage trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, setting the stage for what looks to be the wildest crossover event in superhero history. The footage, which drops on Monday, opens with an ominous voiceover and gives audiences their first real look at Robert Downey Jr. taking on the iconic role of the villainous Doctor Doom. With a metal mask and a heavy accent, Doom is introduced as a terrifying multi-versal threat who immediately leaves heavyweights like Thor looking completely outmatched.

Universes Collide: X-Men, Avengers, and Fantastic Four Come Together

Back for this one are Joe and Anthony Russo, who direct the trailer, which offers up a stunning collision of franchises, with characters from totally separate cinematic universes all on the same battlefield. The legendary X-Men, including Patrick Stewart's Professor X and Ian McKellen's Magneto, officially meet the MCU crowd. From Mystique becoming Yelena Belova to Shang-Chi going toe-to-toe with Gambit, amazing team-ups and surprise pairings are in store for viewers.
