Samantha Ruth Prabhu has written a historic chapter in Tollywood, as her latest release, Maa Inti Bangaram, officially crossed the monumental ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The action-family drama, helmed by Nandini Reddy, has broken the glass ceilings in the industry to become the first-ever female-led Telugu film to enter the elite ₹100 crore club.

The film’s huge box office success is a phenomenal return on investment, recouping more than 300% of its budget. Samantha took on double duty on the project, playing a fierce homemaker protecting her family and also co-producing the film with Raj Nidimoru and Himank Duvvuru.

Why would anyone see a heroine film? If she’s in some big hero movie, that’s good. People know her for the glitter. But a film with a heroine in the lead? Who's there? Nobody.

“Real change only comes when someone is willing to take a risk,” said Samantha, thinking about the gamble. Most of the time the risks don’t materialise. They do, from time to time. This one did it for us. I hope next time an exhibitor is asked about a female-led film, it’s not an automatic no. Maybe it's... 'Let's see.

The film’s historic box office run solidifies Samantha’s transition into physically demanding, performance-heavy roles, building on the momentum of projects like The Family Man 2, Yashoda, and Citadel: Honey Bunny.
