Mumbai Teen Murder Case: 20-Year-Old Delivery Executive Arrested After 17-Year-Old Girl Found Dead Near National Park

The case has shocked residents, and calls have been made for quick justice. 

The body of a teenager was found in a forest area
The body was recovered from a secluded area near Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Kandivali East on July 10. 

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and cordoned off the area. Forensic teams gathered evidence to help reconstruct the events that led to her death.

The incident has rattled the residents of the locality, many of whom have demanded strict action.

The delivery executive held
During the probe, police arrested delivery executive Suraj Maruti Waghmare, 20. 

Initial findings indicate the accused was aware of the victim. Officers say he became suspicious of her contact with a second person, which they say led to an argument that turned violent.

Police said the investigation is continuing and more details will come to light as they question people further and analyse evidence from the crime scene.

A case of murder has been registered, and a detailed investigation has been launched. 

Authorities are looking at CCTV footage from surrounding areas, mobile phone records, and forensic evidence to build a timeline. Police are also interviewing family members, friends, and others who knew the victim to establish what happened before the incident.

Officials said they are probing every possible angle before submitting the chargesheet.

The killing has sparked anger and grief online and in the neighbourhood, with many calling for a fast-track investigation. 

Police said all of the evidence will be presented to the court, and the victim’s family has been promised a thorough investigation. 

Authorities also called on the public not to disseminate unconfirmed information and allow the judicial process to take its course.
