After Bengali Television, Susovan Sonu Roy Moves to the Big Screen

After appearing in several Bengali television serials, actor Susovan Sonu Roy is now associated with the Bengali film Take Care Bhalobasa. The project marks his first Bengali feature film. Based on relationships, friendship and emotional changes, the film features Roy in the role of 'Joy'.

Take Care, Bhalobasa revolves around four friends and the changes that take place in their lives and relationships over time. Joy appears at different stages of the narrative as the evolving dynamics between the characters gradually unfold. While this is Roy's first feature-film project, he has been active in acting for several years.

Roy began his acting career in 2019 with Akash Aath's Anandamoyee Maa, directed by the late Debidas Bhattacharya, where he portrayed a Vaishnav devotee. He later appeared in the serials Mohor, Korapakhi, Titli, Khelaghar and Jamuna Dhaki. In Korapakhi, he played a negative role opposite actress Parno Mitra.

Alongside television, Roy also worked in commercial modelling. As television production schedules were affected during the Covid-19 pandemic, he began taking up modelling assignments. Since 2023, he has appeared in advertising campaigns for Holiday Inn Hotel, Dabur, Big Bazaar, Spencer's and other brands.

Born in Howrah, Roy spent part of his childhood in Kolkata and Guwahati. Before entering acting, he developed an interest in dance and trained in Western dance for nearly two years, participating in stage performances and cultural programmes. After completing a Commerce degree from Dum Dum Motijheel Rabindra Mahavidyalaya, he attended acting workshops conducted by director and producer Pijush Saha.

In addition to acting and modelling, Roy participated in the Ethnic Elegance 2025 pageant, where he was named first runner-up. His professional work now spans television, modelling and Bengali feature films.
