3 Idiots Actor Omi Vaidya Backs Sonam Wangchuk, Urges People To "Save His Life" During Hunger Strike
Omi Vaidya, who played Chatur in 3 Idiots, has made an emotional appeal for environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, saying he does not want "the real Phunsukh Wangdu" to lose his life during the ongoing hunger strike.
The actor shared a video online urging people to take care of Wangchuk’s health and the issues he has been raising for Ladakh.

With the hunger strike ongoing, Omi Vaidya expressed deep concern about Sonam Wangchuk’s health.
“I don’t want Phunsukh Wangdu to die,” said Vaidya. “Phunsukh Wangdu is based on Wangchuk, the real-life hero of _3 Idiots_.
He asked people to take the situation seriously, not to ignore what is going on.
Appeal To Spread Awareness
The actor appealed to the citizens to use social media to spread awareness of the strike and also to reach out to their elected representatives.
Vaidya said that public awareness and peaceful civic participation can bring the concerns being raised to the right people.
