Swami Vivekananda’s educational vision is a precious heritage : Barnwal



RANCHI/KOLKATA: Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal said that July 4 is the day of Mahasamadhi of Swami Vivekananda. Swamiji had imagined the idea of a university at Belur Math, saying that the Belur Math is an Indian spiritual heritage; it will be a world-class center of scientific knowledge system. Swami Vivekananda’s educational vision is a precious heritage and Ramakrishna Mission is making effort to bring it to the people. Barnwal attended the meeting of Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute at Belur Math in Kolkata on Thursday as Chancellor Nominee, and addressed the students in the convocation.
The students of the university were honored with a bachelor’s degree, postgraduate and PhD in which the students of the University of Ranchi were also present.
The Principle Secretary said that Ramkrishna Mission has established this university to realize the vision of Swami Vivekananda. It is the first and only university of West Bengal, which has been established with the motto of Swamiji. Ramkrishna Mission is the sponsoring society of the University.
Barnwal informed that in the Ramkrishna Mission Ranchi, with its off-campus try to bring the rural and backward people forward. Excellent work has been done in the field of agriculture, rural and tribal development.

The Jharkhand government has approved an annual recurring maintenance grant of Rs 2.94 crore for the organization to work in the field of education and other sectors.
In the program, General Secretary of the two organizations of the world, Swami Suviranandji, Vice Chancellor of Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda University Swami Aatomanandji and others were present.
