Second meeting of ‘PREM’ held

PATNA: The second meeting of 2019 of Participation of Railway Employees in Management (PREM) group was held today at East Central Railway (ECR) Headquarters at Hajipur. The meeting was chaired by ECR General Manager Lalit Chandra Trivedi. The theme of the meeting was safe operation of trains in which present members expressed their opinions. Chief traffic planning manager, Sanjay Kumar gave a power point presentation related to train accidents this year.
Addressing the meeting, Trivedi said ECR is a challenging regional rail service, but the efforts made by rail officials and employees are commendable. He also praised the works done in new track construction, doubling of tracks and electrification in ECR. He said the ECR would soon develop advanced railway system replacing the old lever frame signaling system. It will help in safe running of trains as well as time management, he said.
Earlier welcoming the members of the group, he said the PREM group has been formed to make rail organization more effective and participation of rail employees in management. It helps to increase participation of more members and review of rail works on ground level. With the help of union and association, new initiatives can be taken to improve the rail services. The main objective of the organisation is to focus on passengers’ safety and facility, he added.
