Patna DM felicitated for ‘Biggest Eco-friendly Rangoli’

PATNA: The District Magistrate (DM) of Patna, Kumar Ravi was felicitated on Thursday by India Book of Records for making ‘Biggest Eco-friendly Rangoli’ here in the state capital. The chief electoral officer, Bihar presented a certificate to Ravi for making Biggest Eco-friendly Rangoli at the historical Gandhi Maidan during the general election-2019.

It is to be noted that the district administration during the general elections-2019 drew the biggest eco-friendly rangoli measuring 41,600 sq mtrs at the Gandhi Maidan. The rangoli was 260 meter long and 160 meter wide. The rangoli was made with natural colours and wood shavings. Various departments of district administration officials co-ordinated in the drawing. The main artistes who played important role in the making of rangoli included students of Patna Arts College and aanganwadi workers. It took about 15 days to complete it. A team of around 150 students and aanganwadi workers under the guidance of Patna DM made the rangoli. The aim was to create awareness amongst the voters to cast their votes in the Lok Sabha Election 2019.
