PATNA: The Bihar-Jharkhand ICSE Regional Cricket Tournament would be held in first week of September at Dhanbad cricket ground. The Patna Zone team for the tournament has been finalised. The cricket team includes four players from Lohianagar Mount Carmel High School in which two are in team, while two have been kept reserved. Nine players are from Don Bosco Academy, Digha and three from International School.
Expressing pleasure on the selection of her children in the team, director of the Mount Carmel School, Meenu Singh extended her wishes to the children. “It is a matter of honour for the school that four children from here have been selected in the team. We not only care about studies but also keep focus on other extra-curricular activities. Sports is one of them. Since Rupak Kumar has joined the school about six years ago as sports in-charge, the students are continuously performing well in every sports tournament. The students with their performance had brought many medals to the school.”
Narendra Kumar, sports teacher of Don Bosco Academy said the selection trial for the team was organised on July 4 by the committee formed under the presidential ship of Principal Mary Alphonsa and senior Bihar cricketer Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary. There are nine students of Don Bosco Academy in the team, she said and extended her wishes to the children.
The Patna Zonal Team consists of Anurag Mishra, Ayushman, Divya Agarwal (International School), Saurabh Sharma, Ishu Ranjan (Mount Carmel School), Ishan, Vishik Parth, Ayush Nandan, Harsh Kumar, Prankur, Atul Kumar, Priyanshu, Ankit and Vishal (Don Bosco Academy). Reserved players are Mohit Kumar (Christ Church), Aditya Singh (International School), Nikhil Kumar and Rohit Kumar (Mount Carmel High School).
