PATNA: As the residents of the state capital are reeling under knee-deep to neck-deep water logging, the absence of Divisional Commissioner Anand Kishor is matter of discussion among the people.

Kishor, who always remains in media with his pictures and videos in newspapers and news channels directing the officials to ensure compliance of the government’s order, is not available to help the flood victims.

The BJP has commented on the divisional commissioner. BJP has said that the people are searching for ‘Saheb’ (Officer), but it has been heard that he is on foreign tour. Nikhil Anand, spokesperson of Bihar BJP in his tweet commented, “Patna’s people are searching for their commissioner. The moments of anti-encroachment drive and ensure new traffic rules were used by him for photo-session in media. Since the city is flooded with water, he is out of scene. It has been heard that he is on holiday tour of some foreign country or to acquire some knowledge there.”

Earlier in first week of September, when the Centre had introduced the new Motor Vehicle Act-2019, divisional commissioner Kishor came on Patna roads with a large number of police force to enforce the new traffic rules in the city. He was seen with City SPs and Traffic SP issuing chalan to commuters violating traffic rules. A wide vehicle checking drive was launched in Patna by the administration led by the commissioner. During the drive, huge amount of fines were raised from the common people in the city. The people were then forcibly asked to deposit the fine or their vehicles were seized. At several places, people also protested against the police and administration for raising so high amount of fines according to the new rule.

Kishor is also being trolled on social media. The residents of Patna have started asking on social media platforms about the health of commissioner. “He was not seen for last five days… Is he okay… he has suddenly disappeared from the scene”, asked a Facebook user. They are asking if anyone has seen him. If not seen physically, has anyone seen his photo in any newspaper or news channels. These types of questions are being asked on social media sites.
