RANCHI: Honest efforts of state government provided the benefit of Ujjwala Scheme to 29 lakh female of the state. “It has covered 82.6 per cent women which was 27 percent in 2014. Now with Prime Minister Ujjwala Scheme-2 we will cover 14 lakh more women in coming two months”, said Chief Minister Raghubar Das while reviewing the Prime Minister Ujjwala Scheme at Project Building here on Saturday.
Vice Chairman of 20 point program said that within 10 days Ujjwala Didi will be appointed in all panchayat. With them we have to achieve the target of 14 lakh LPG connection. In the appointment, priority will be given to tribal women in tribal dominant areas. In the coming days seminars will be organised at block, district and Panchayat level for detailed information regarding the work of Ujjwala Didi.
The Chief Minister said that 1002 Ujjwala panchayat will be organised in July. In the camps, benefits of the scheme will be given to people yet not covered under the scheme. Oil companies will provide support in this, CM added.
Vice- Chairman of 20 point program Rakesh Prasad in his address said that the Centre and State Government are dedicated for the overall development of the people. He said that Jharkhand was the first state to provide first refill free with the gas connection. The common man should be aware of this scheme.
Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Secretary Dr. Amitabh Kaushal and Ramesh Kumar from Indian Oil Corporation also addressed the program and said that rest of the 14 lakh families will also be given gas connection soon.
Principle Secretary Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Secretary Dr. Amitabh Kaushal, Vice- Chairman 20 points program Rakesh Prasad and others were also present in the program.
