Two-day bridge-2019 conference
PATNA: The two-day bridge-2019 conference was started today at Gyan Bhawan here in the state capital. The conference organised jointly under the aegis of Indian Institution of Bridge Engineer (IIBE) and Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited (BSBCCL) was inaugurated by road construction minister Nand Kishor Yadav. The theme of the event is ‘Revolution in Transportation Infrastructure: Vision – 2030’.
Addressing the conference, minister said that the bridge 2019 conference will give meaningful information to the engineers of the state, which will benefit Bihar’s development. “We want Bihar’s infrastructural development to be more developed. This will happen only when the cost will decrease and time spent on construction works will also decrease. We appreciate the efforts made by the IIBE and BSBCCL”.
Yadav said the overall development of any state could not be possible without latest infrastructure. The chief minister Nitish Kumar understood this and the state government started working in the same direction and the result is in front of everyone. Earlier around 15 years ago, construction of bridges and roads in Bihar were a mere imagination. But when the NDA government was formed in the state, a large number of roads including four-lanes and bridges were constructed. In 2005, no one was aware of four-lane in the state. But later Centre and state government built a wide network of roads in the state. In many cases, Bihar is showing direction to the country today. Bihar is today number one in laying network of roads in villages and their maintenance, he said and praised the engineers of the state.
At the same time, the principal secretary of road construction department, Amrit Lal Meena gave a lot of information about the basic structures built in Bihar.
