New Delhi, June 6, 2019: After the resounding victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections now the focus of the party would be on the election-bound states. So Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Ranchi, Jharkhand on June 21 to participate in the International Yoga Day programme there.
A senior BJP leader has confirmed this to Morning India on condition of anonymity that the PM will be visiting Ranchi on June 21 to participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations. Ever since the inception of International Yoga Day by the United Nations in 2015, all senior leaders of the BJP including Union ministers and the PM participate in the celebrations in different parts of the country and even in the world as International Yoga Day is celebrated not only in India but also across the world. Last year the Prime Minister participated in the International Yoga Day in Dehradun and he was in Delhi when the first International Yoga Day was observed in 2015.
Sources said that this is the election year for Jharkhand and just six more months are left with the state government. So the BJP plans to start its preparations for the Assembly elections in the state with the Prime Minister’s visit. This even will actually infuse a new kind of enthusiasm in the party workers. International Yoga Day is celebrated in every state but in the BJP-ruled states it is celebrated in a bigger way and where the PM goes, the magnitude of the celebration is even bigger.
The BJP is getting ready for the elections at the organisational level but with the PM visiting Jharkhand on International Yoga Day will boost workers of the party in the state. Jharkhand has been the only state where no party or leader one was able to provide stable government ever since it was carved out of Bihar till the BJP government under the leadership of Raghubar Das took over. Das is about to complete his first term and will be seeking for the second consecutive term for the BJP in the state.
The BJP has done very well in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections and former chief minister Arjun Munda has been made minister for tribal affair in the Modi government. Sources said that the former chief minister Munda will also be there in Ranchi on June 21 Yoga Day in the state.
